is a producer, mixer, songwriter, guitarist and founding member of the band John Wolfhooker based in Prague. He is best known for his mixing and production work in contemporary rock and pop acts.
Rony Janecek started playing guitar at the age of 9. Two years later he became a finalist of a talent show on Slovak national TV and his appearance in the show led to multiple viral guitar videos with tens of millions of views, also shared by guitarists such as Zakk Wylde. Afterwards Rony studied classical guitar at a music school in Prague. He was a pupil of the legendary Czech composer and guitarist Milan Tesar and successfully attended world classical guitar competitions at a very young age. He later transitioned to studying jazz guitar led by Berklee graduate David Dorůžka. At the age of 11, Rony got into music production and got his first paid job as a producer of a full length record at the age of 13. Fast forwarding, Rony has been fully focused on music production, mixing and recording in his own music studio - Pidgeon Records, based in Prague since 2019.
Rony is one of the founding members of the rock band John Wolfhooker, which originated in 2013. He has also been the main songwriter, mixer and producer of the band ever since. John Wolfhooker sold out venues in Czechia, played on the main stage of one of the biggest festivals in Europe - Rock For People, toured Czechia, Slovakia, Germany and Canada, and played as a support for Hollywood Undead as a part of their arena tour. Their latest album “313” got nominated for Anděl Award (which is the Czech version of Grammy). The band also topped national charts with several songs on Czech mainstream radio stations. In 2021, John Wolfhooker signed a multi-year deal with Warner Music.
Since 2016, Rony has been involved in the project Rock the Opera, where he plays as a solo guitarist accompanied by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra or the BBC Symphonic Orchestra. The project sold out venues all over Europe's biggest and oldest opera houses, including Vienna State Opera, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Auditorium di Milano, Acropolis - Athens State Orchestra.
